Frequently asked Questions
We focus only on containers in general. Currently you can view cases, capsules and souvenir packages on our website. We will add new containers in the future, starting with other types of containers.
Our scrapers are running once a day at a fixed time. As we continue to improve our service, we will decrease the update intervals to provide more accurate and realtime data
Our goal is that you will find everything related to containers on our website. This includes
- Prices (Steam Price and Cash Price)
- Steam Trading Volume in Absolute Quantity but also Total Value over various time intervals
- Unboxing Numbers (Only for Cases)
- ROI = Return on Investment (for Steam and in Cash)
- Steam Listing Quantity in absolute Quantity but also total Value over various time intervals
We also feature basic data, which doesn’t change over time like:
- Release Dates
- Update Info with a link to the Patchnotes
- Unboxing Odds for specific Items
- Link to Steam
- …
If you miss something please report it to us, we want to make our plattform as convenient as possible.
ROI stands for Return on Investment. In the context of containers, it refers to the expected amount of money you can earn back over time by opening them. However, this figure reflects a long-term average. If you open only a few containers, your actual returns may vary significantly from the projected ROI.
Trading Volume indicates how many items were sold on the Steam Community Market in the selected timespan. This value is directly retrieved from Steam.
It depends on which price we are talking about. We differentiate between steam price and cash price:
- Steam Price
The steam price is directly sourced from steam. We just calculate a realistic price from buy orders and listings.
- Cash Price
To make it simpler for our users, we refer to prices from third party marketplaces as cash price. Most of the time the platform is not important. We currently use skinport and buff as a reference. But we are aware that this is very limited. We plan to expand and add other markets in the future
Please note that sometimes our prices can be off, this is not only a problem of our scraping efforts but also the nature of the Counter-Strike market as some items weren’t unboxed yet.
When CS:GO was released in China, Valve had to make the odds for every container public. You can find the odds on this website. To factor in the wear for each item, we rely on an analysis done by csfloat.com which determines the chance to receive each wear and can be found here. With this information you can calculate the chance of unboxing for every single item in Counter-Strike. Please note that, as long as we don't receive more details from Valve these numbers are never 100% confirmed but they are as good as we can currently get.
After we calculated the unboxing odds for every single item, the ROI calculations became rather simple. For each item in the container, we multiply the chance of unboxing with the price of the item. After that, we sum it all up and divide it by the cost of the container and, if required, the key. This will give us the ROI for the container. Please note that ROI calculations can be inaccurate sometimes because there's no price for a very rare item, especially for items exceeding the $2000 limit on the Steam market.
